Old Manor Hotel in Nevis
Set on the slopes of Mount Nevis this enchanting hotel is steeped in atmosphere and tradition. It is constantly cooled by the very gentle trade breezes and the views in all directions are superb, particularly the marvellous sight of Mount Nevis towering towards the blue sky. The cut-stone buildings constructed in the late 18th century have now been completely converted and these stone structures which once housed the blacksmith, smokehouse and estate workers now provide spacious and charming rooms for the guests at Old Manor. The first this one notices at Old Manor is the spacious feel to its large rooms and wherever you walk amongst the estate you will see historic remains of the working days. It really is a step back in time and yet provides great comfort and good facilities. The rooms are in different parts of the estate and all are close to the large pool and garden terrace. There is also a two bedroomed cottage set on the edge of the estate which is particularly private and peaceful. The casual bar and popular Cooperage restaurant offer excellent food and there are occasional barbecue nights with a local steel band playing under the stars. Nevis hospitality at its best.
