Once the home of Fanny Nisbet, Lord Nelson's wife, this is the only
deluxe plantation house situated right on the beach in the Caribbean.
Like all the plantations, life here centres on the Great House, a magnificent
18th-century building with its wide oak floorboards and spectacular
terrace looking down to the sea. The 36 rooms are dotted around the
estate in a variety of suites and cottages and all are within a stroll
of the beautiful white sand beach with safe swimming and splendid snorkelling.
Coconuts is the beachside breakfast restaurant where exotic local fruits
and local specialities are the ideal start to the day. Lunch is in
the casual beach bar whilst dinner is served in the Great House. Thursday
night is the weekly beach barbecue where visitors join residents for
a beach barbecue with a steel band beneath the stars. Nisbet has a
large pool next to the beach and also a tennis court for your use.
The staff at Nisbet are as friendly and as helpful as you could wish
for – nothing is too much trouble and it is no surprise to find so
many regular visitors to this elegant but informal haven of beachside
luxury.
